Alger Heights is a small neighborhood of Grand Rapids, defined by the boundaries of Burton Street to the North, Kalamazoo Avenue to the East, 28th Street to the South and Eastern Avenue to the West. The only neighborhood in the city to be built up during the Great Depression and World War II, Alger Heights’ resilience and growth is still apparent along its tree-lined streets.
